         Based on a corporate commitment to contribute to society, we have continued to produce
superior products in our core fire fighting and marine business since our founding in 1922. In
1949, we developed and sold Japan’s first portable fire pump. In 1956, we manufactured and
sold the first marine outboard engines. As a pioneer in fire pumps and outboard engines, we
have established our comprehensive production system which enabled us to design, develop,
and manufacture products.
         Our portable fire pumps are one of our biggest successes. Tohatsu pumps bring together

         Tohatsu is one of the few fire pump makers in the world capable of developing and
